We are currently working with a leading mining and heavy equipment organisation to recruit an experienced Automotive Electrical Technician to join their West Coast operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified electrical professional who enjoys fault finding, diagnostics, commissioning, and working with advanced mining equipment and technology. The role offers a mix of workshop and field-based work, supporting a large fleet of underground and surface mining equipment.

The OpportunityAs an Automotive Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of a modern mining fleet. Working closely with customers and technical teams, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and commissioning a wide range of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and automation systems.

This position would suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working autonomously, and being part of a business that invests heavily in training, development, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults on heavy mobile equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing.
• Install and commission electrical systems and components on new equipment.
• Complete software updates and system calibrations.
• Conduct fault finding across CAN bus, control, and automation systems.
• Assist with machine commissioning, pre-delivery inspections, and customer handovers.
• Complete technical reports and maintenance documentation.
• Work closely with customers to provide high-quality technical support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product development feedback.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Relevant Automotive Electrical, Heavy Automotive, or Electrical Trade Qualification.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience across electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience working with heavy mobile plant, mining equipment, construction machinery, or similar.
• Knowledge of CAN bus systems, machine control systems, and software-based diagnostics.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to complete technical reporting.
• A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Full driver's licence.
• Previous mining industry experience would be highly regarded but is not essential.
