Job description
We’re on the lookout for an organised and reliable Finance Administrator to join a well-established Tauranga business in the maintenance and construction space.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping both the numbers and the day-to-day operations running smoothly. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys detail, takes pride in accuracy, and is happy working across both finance and general admin.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping both the numbers and the day-to-day operations running smoothly. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys detail, takes pride in accuracy, and is happy working across both finance and general admin.
What you’ll be doing:
- Processing accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, coding, payments, and reconciliations (Xero)
- Managing debtor follow-ups and assisting with creditor balances
- Supporting job costing by ensuring labour, materials, and costs are accurately allocated (Simpro)
- Reviewing job data, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining system accuracy
- Assisting with timesheets and payroll processing, ensuring correct labour allocation
- Supporting bank reconciliations, month-end processes, and general financial reporting
- Preparing simple reports and maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
- Supporting onboarding, contracts, and employee documentation
- Maintaining training, compliance, and health & safety records
- Assisting with job setup, documentation, and filing systems
- Supporting office operations, bookings, supplier coordination, and stocktakes
- Working closely with operational staff to ensure accurate and timely information flow
- Helping out with general admin, projects, and day-to-day business support
- 5+ years’ experience in a finance and/or administration role
- Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Experience using Xero (essential) and ideally job costing systems like Simpro
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- A proactive, reliable, and team-focused approach
