A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established, NZ owned business with a significant operational footprint across the South Island.
This is a senior, hands-on position reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with operational leaders across multiple areas of the business. The role offers a broad mix of financial management, commercial oversight, systems involvement, leadership, and operational support.

Leading a small finance and administration team, you’ll be someone who enjoys being involved in the detail while also contributing strategically to the wider direction of the business. This role would suit a commercially minded Finance Manager who thrives in practical, fast-paced environments and enjoys building strong working relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Monthly management reporting and variance analysis
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Cost analysis and divisional financial oversight
  • Project and operational financial control
  • Credit control and financial risk management
  • Oversight of payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Compliance reporting including GST, PAYE, FBT and other statutory requirements
  • Liaising with external accountants, advisors, banks and stakeholders
  • Supporting ongoing systems, process and operational improvements
  • Leadership of finance and administration staff across the business
To be successful in the role you will bring:
  • Proven senior finance management experience
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability
  • A practical, hands-on working style
  • Experience managing or mentoring finance/admin teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to operate autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • CA qualification preferred
This is a full-time permanent position based on site in Golden Bay, with standard hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm and flexibility required around operational demands.
