Fire Alarm Technician (Junior) – Hawke’s Bay

Kinetic Recruitment are currently seeking a Junior Fire Alarm Technician to join a well-established and growing team based in Hawke’s Bay. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in the fire protection industry who is looking to develop their skills across both service and installation work.
You’ll be working across a variety of sites throughout the Central North Island, gaining hands-on experience while being supported by experienced technicians and leadership.

About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in:

• Installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems
• Routine servicing, maintenance, and fault finding
• Diagnosing and repairing system faults
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Completing accurate job documentation and compliance records
• Supporting senior technicians and project teams

The role includes regular travel and occasional overnight stays, so flexibility is key.
What We’re Looking For

• 1–2 years’ experience in fire alarms or a related electrical field
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail
• Full, clean driver’s licence
• Site Safe (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications such as NZQA Level 3 Fire Detection & Alarms are advantageous but not essential.
