Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity with Pathway to Permanent Role

We are looking for experienced Heavy Structural Steel Fabricators/Welders to join a well-established and growing engineering company in Wellington. This is a full-time workshop-based role with consistent hours and a genuine pathway to a permanent position for the right candidates.

Your New Role You will be responsible for fabricating and welding heavy structural steel components to a high standard. Working in a modern workshop environment, you’ll produce quality structural steelwork for a variety of projects while maintaining excellent safety and quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Heavy structural steel fabrication and welding
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Working with large structural steel sections and assemblies
• Producing high-quality welds and finished components
• Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and quality requirements
• Collaborating effectively within a supportive team environment

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in heavy structural steel fabrication and welding
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious attitude
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workshop setting
• Valid NZ work rights (NZ residency or current work visa required)
