We are looking for experienced Heavy Structural Steel Fabricators/Welders to join a well-established and growing engineering company in Wellington. This is a full-time workshop-based role with consistent hours and a genuine pathway to a permanent position for the right candidates.
Your New Role You will be responsible for fabricating and welding heavy structural steel components to a high standard. Working in a modern workshop environment, you’ll produce quality structural steelwork for a variety of projects while maintaining excellent safety and quality practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Heavy structural steel fabrication and welding
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Working with large structural steel sections and assemblies
- Producing high-quality welds and finished components
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and quality requirements
- Collaborating effectively within a supportive team environment
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in heavy structural steel fabrication and welding
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious attitude
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workshop setting
- Valid NZ work rights (NZ residency or current work visa required)
- Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime opportunities
