CEO's Update
What I have learnt this year above all is that success comes from a true total team approach.
Unless you have dedicated resources concentrating on sourcing top talent, as well as a strong team around you bringing candidates in, the time in which a role is placed now would have extended greatly. And for business, time is of the essence.
We are beginning to see the candidate tight market slightly easing as 2018 draws closer to the end. However, the ball is still very much in the candidate's court, so focusing on securing an offer is still just as imperative as it has been in previous months.
Our offices throughout the regions are continuing to experience growth, meaning our consultants are having great success when it comes to moving candidates and providing our clients with the right people for the right roles efficiently and effectively.
I would like to welcome back our Tauranga Senior Consultant, Cherie Hill from maternity leave. Cherie has been with Kinetic for 10 years. Cherie has been working behind the scenes while caring for her newborn, so it's terrific to have her back on a full time basis.
September will see the release of our updated salary survey, so if you have any questions in between now and then, please do not hesitate to contact me. This provides great information towards recommended salaries and what roles have been most in demand as of late, particularly helpful given the market recently.

Women at Work
An article from National Business Review has examined the NZ employment rate for the last quarter, explaining that filled jobs were 1.2% higher than the June quarter this time last year -
a fantastic result!
The overall employment rate has risen to 67.7%, with the employment rate for women rising to a record 62.8% from 62.6% three months earlier.
“The employment rate for women is the highest since records began over 30 years ago and represents 1.25 million women at work,” labour market manager Sean Broughton says.
The total number of employed people rose 13,000 to 2.63 million in the last three months, with most of the growth due to women between the ages of 25 to 39 gaining jobs.
“Actually, there were more than 50,000 more women employed. Women account for nearly half of total employed people,” Mr Broughton says.
The unemployment rate for women fell to 4.7%, a nine-year low, from 4.9% in the March quarter.
Not only is this great to hear from an all-round perspective, but bridging the gap between male and female employees in New Zealand is something we are passionate about.
Here at Kinetic, having an all female approach (while unintentional), this is absolutely astounding to hear. We are beyond delighted to support women in the workforce, and will work towards ensuring that this statistic continues to grow.

Nurturing Our Future Workforce
We'd like to say thank-you to those that have agreed to take on students as part of our Work Experience programme - your support is greatly appreciated!
We still have a few students to place.
If you are part of a Wellington business that are willing to offer work experience for students and 'give back to the people of our future', on September 5th and 6th 2018.
As an organisation, we would ensure your business is seen to be growing and nurturing young talent in New Zealand, using external marketing and social media platforms. You will have the opportunity to access the talent of the future that may be relevant to your industry,
We would very much appreciate your support and please come back to us if this is of interest to you. Should you have any further questions, please contact Susan Campbell on 029 7777 628, or email auckland@kinetic.co.nz.

Giving Back to Our Community
Each year, thousands of New Zealand children go cold and hungry throughout the winter months.
At Kinetic, we are giving back by collecting any spare clothes, blankets and food that can be spared in order to make a few lives a little easier (and warmer).
Any support you can offer would be very valuable. If you are willing and able to donate a few items, please get in touch to auckland@kinetic.co.nz.
We will be collecting these items on Wednesday 5th September.
The clothes must be washed, clean and folded.
