Winter Wrap Up

Can you believe we are now in the final month of Winter and are two thirds of the way through the year! Just a hop skip and a jump away from Spring (a welcome transition of seasons!) we take a look at the current market and reflect on changes over the past year to date.
There was an interesting article printed on the One News website last week outlining the New Zealand job market and wage growth. It claims the job market is strong, with statistics from the latest Quarterly Employment Survey showing that there has been an increase in filled jobs of 3.1% from the same time last year. Interestingly the biggest growth was in accommodation closely followed by construction.
However, it seems wages are not following trend. Growth in the job market does not reflect growth in wages. There was an increase in wages of 1.5% in the year to June, as measured by the Labour Cost Index. However, when a measure of average ordinary-time hourly earnings was conducted, an increase of only 2.1% was found.
Senior Consultant Relocation
Kinetic has locations over four major centres of New Zealand which gives our employees the opportunity to re-locate if they wish. One of our Senior Consultants – Cherie Hill, who has worked for Kinetic for around six years, has taken advantage of this opportunity and has recently transferred offices to work for Kinetic in Tauranga, along with her husband and their two young children. They are loving living in the Bay.
Cherie is exceptional. Her passion for recruitment, her experience and sound understanding of business alongside her genuine and down to earth approach will be of great benefit to the Tauranga office, the businesses she recruits for and the candidates she assists.
Although we miss having Cherie in Auckland, we are extremely excited to see her developing and managing the Tauranga office.

New Additions
It would not be a Kinetic Newsletter without the addition of new team members!
As we are expanding in size we have recently welcomed Kendall Rowe and Danielle Nutley to the Auckland office, they have come on board as Para Consultants.
Kendall joins us after a couple of years overseas and brings with her a strong administration background, previously working in a busy role as an Office Manager.
Danielle is originally from the UK where she was heavily involved in administration also. She is loving living in New Zealand! Her most recent role was as a Recruitment Administrator in a demanding Auckland office.
We are thrilled to have them join the Kinetic family and are looking forward to watching both Kendall and Danielle develop in their roles as Para Consultants.

Blog
If you haven’t already, click on the picture to the right and have a read of our latest blog. A very interesting outlook on millenials and how they are portrayed as mostly negative but, in fact are actually misunderstood. It talks of the importance of millenials and their contribution to society. Could be worth your while.

A Well Deserved Treat
On Wednesday July 6th, celebrating the end of a hard working quarter, the Kinetic team were treated to a day out – on the boss! We spent it at Casita Miro – a beautiful winery on Waiheke Island. With stunning views and cuisine to die for, not to mention the beautiful variety of wines, the team enjoyed a relaxing, laid back day!
