This is a role for someone who thrives on a busy small consultative environment where you will be integral to the growth and business strategy development. My client is seeking a genuine team player who is passionate, experienced and innovative, with a flexible nature and a great base of practical experience.

You will need relevant Auckland based experience, with excellent communication skills, and an appropriate engineering qualification.

DUTIES:

  • Seeking opportunities for business development within the buildings and infrastructure sector for a design consultancy.
  • In conjunction with the Leadership Team develop a strategy for business development.
  • Develop growth strategies and plans to increase client base identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs. 
  • Responsible for heading up expansion into new markets as well as continued expansion among existing markets and clients.
  • Building relationships with existing clients to leverage from current standing.
  • Develop a draft annual budget for approval to include marketing and business development.
  • Attend relevant networking functions.
  • Driving peak performance and sales success across the organization.
  • Creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements.
  • Writing business proposals.
  • Negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering knowledge in conjunction with the business development role.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing contracts to ensure adherence to law-established rules and guidelines.
  • You will be instrumental in devising, implementing and managing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets.

REQUIREMENTS OF THIS ROLE:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in NZ market
  • Engineer Backgrond 
  • Proven business development manager who is used to working to targets.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads.
  • Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry at present and illustrate a knowledge of the operational attention to detail that will be required to succeed within the industry.
