About the Role

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals committed to supporting individuals in their recovery journey. As a Senior AOD Practitioner, you'll be at the forefront of providing high-quality clinical services, engaging with clients and helping them take the first steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. Your role will involve a combination of one-on-one client interventions, group work, and clinical assessments that are vital to the rehabilitation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain meaningful connections with clients while delivering support to those facing challenges of addiction and mental health issues.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify individual client needs, crafting tailored treatment plans to address their specific challenges.
  • Provide advanced clinical interventions, including assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, and group facilitation.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Manager to offer support and guidance to the wider team, ensuring best practices and effective care.
  • While your base will be in Lower Hutt, you may occasionally be required to work from other regional sites, including Wellington CBD and Kapiti.

What We're Looking For:

  • The ability to engage clients authentically while maintaining professional boundaries, ensuring a safe and trusting environment for recovery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as computer literacy to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • A genuine commitment to incorporating the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori into your practice to deliver culturally responsive care.
  • Fresh, innovative approaches to the complex challenges faced by clients with alcohol and other drug dependencies.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver the best outcomes for clients.

What You'll Receive:

  • Earn between $80,000 - $90,000, with additional benefits that reflect your skills and experience.
  • Cover of your professional registration fees, so you can focus on your career development.
  • Receive regular professional supervision and ongoing support for your professional growth and development.
  • 25 days of paid annual leave.
  • Access to a range of benefits designed to support your personal and professional well-being.

What You Need:

  • Relevant Qualifications: A qualification in AOD Counselling is required to step into this role.
  • DAPAANZ Registration: Full registration with DAPAANZ is essential.
  • Clinical Experience: At least 3 years of clinical experience working in AOD or Mental Health settings, with the skills to handle complex cases.
  • Driver's License: A clean, full driver's license is required.
  • Clearances: You must be able to gain and maintain Ministry of Justice and Police clearances.
  • Right to Work: You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to help individuals overcome the challenges they face, to change lives, and to be part of a team that is genuinely committed to making a difference.
