The Role As a Cancer Support Nurse Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in providing evidence-based information about cancer to the community, health professionals, and cancer patients and their supporters. You'll coordinate nursing support through community visits and a cancer information service, offering comprehensive care and timely support to those affected by cancer. Your responsibilities will include assessing client needs, providing information and support via various channels, and maintaining strong professional relationships to enhance supportive care services.
Are You the Perfect Fit?
- Bring at least two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, ideally with a background in Oncology/Haematology and community nursing.
- Have completed or be undertaking relevant graduate or postgraduate studies in Oncology/Haematology nursing or related fields.
- Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate and a Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
