Heavy Diesel Technician

Job description

This is a hands-on role working across both the workshop and in the field, supporting customers and keeping equipment running with minimal downtime. You’ll be out on-site responding to breakdowns as well as carrying out servicing and repairs in the workshop when required.

What you’ll be doing day to day:
  • Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment and machinery
  • Responding to breakdowns and providing on-site support
  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance and workshop repairs
  • Fault finding across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems using diagnostic tools
  • Communicating with customers, workshop, and parts team to keep jobs moving
  • Completing job reports, photos, and paperwork accurately and on time
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience working on construction, earthmoving, or similar heavy equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Hands-on hydraulics experience
  • A self-starter with good time management and a reliable work ethic
  • Confident dealing with customers in the field
  • Physically fit and happy working in varied environments
  • Trade qualification preferred (or strong relevant experience)
  • Full driver’s licence (truck licence an advantage)
  • Own tools preferred
