We are working with a leading provider of fire and security solutions, who are committed to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction. They are expanding their Security team and seeking a skilled Security Technician to install, maintain, and commission top-tier security systems across Wellington and surrounding areas. Location:
Wellington, New Zealand (based in Lower Hutt)
Reporting to: Divisional Manager - Security
Type: Full-time, with on-call roster

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, and commission security equipment to NZSA standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide rapid responses to service calls, troubleshoot onsite issues, and deliver efficient solutions as a problem-solver.
  • Coach apprentices on-the-job, foster positive teamwork, and offer feedback for their development.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, handle communications professionally, and keep service information confidential.
  • Champion health and safety: Lead by example, report incidents promptly, and ensure compliance with HSWA and company policies.
  • Support administration tasks like updating as-builts, accurate timekeeping, and maintaining job documentation.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster and undertake other duties as needed to support team success.
Key Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the Security industry with a proven track record.
  • Level 3 NZ Certificate in Security (Foundation) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of business management systems (e.g., Simpro, Uptick) and security technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to mentor apprentices and work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
  • Valid New Zealand driver's licence.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
