Kinetic wraps up national Health and Safety Reforms events
Kinetic wraps up national Health and Safety Reforms event series.
Kinetic Recruitment has officially concluded its three-part Health and Safety Reforms event series, delivered across Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga throughout November. Each session brought together local business leaders, safety professionals, and industry partners to explore what the upcoming reforms will mean in practice for workplaces across Aotearoa.
The sessions, hosted in partnership with Matt Jones from Advanced Safety NZ, focused on helping employers prepare for one of the most significant shifts to workplace safety expectations in recent years. While the reforms introduce new requirements, the strongest message to come through the series was that the changes go beyond compliance. They signal a movement toward more proactive, people-centred safety cultures.
Key areas of focus included:
Greater leadership accountability in safety outcomes
Stronger, more consistent internal communication
Clearer reporting expectations and documentation
The need for improved safety capability across teams

Across all three events, attendees shared consistent themes. Many organisations are seeking clarity on how internal processes will need to change, particularly around reporting and governance. Others are assessing what capabilities will be required within their teams to meet the new expectations.
What became clear throughout the series was that readiness is becoming a competitive advantage. Businesses that invest early will be better positioned to meet new obligations and build safer, more resilient workplaces.
Common takeaways from attendees included:
Early preparation reduces organisational risk
Workforce capability is central to compliance
Safety performance will be increasingly tied to culture
The reforms create an opportunity to strengthen existing practices
Kinetic is proud to have supported these conversations nationally. As a recruitment partner working closely with safety-critical industries, we understand how important it is to have the right people, systems, and culture in place before legislative changes take effect.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga. Our local teams are available to share a summary of the key insights or discuss how your organisation can prepare.
Stay tuned for more Kinetic events in 2026.
