We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team based in Takanini, South Auckland. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, takes pride in what they do, and wants to be part of a supportive and well-organised workshop.
You’ll be working alongside a small but capable team, including two apprentices and a yardman. Our workload covers a broad range of jobs across different brands and machinery, so there’s always something new to work on. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and problem-solving, and who can work well both independently and as part of a team.

What we offer:
- Competitive hourly rate of $40–$50, based on experience and capability
- Call out fees and potential to get company vehicle with time.
- Career progression opportunity - grow into 2IC or Foreman role
- Standard working hours of 6:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Occasional later finishes, though these are not common – we aim to maintain a healthy work-life balance for our team
- A supportive and collaborative team environment
- A varied workload across multiple brands and vehicle types – no two days are the same
The ideal candidate will have:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (preferably with experience in road transport or trucks; machine-qualified candidates with truck experience will also be considered)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills (advantageous)
- Excellent English communication skills – verbal and written communication is essential
- A good level of physical fitness and the ability to handle hands-on work
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team while also being capable of working independently
- Willingness to be available for occasional after-hours work when needed
