Position: Oncology Nurse

Job Description: As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in the care and support of patients throughout their cancer journey. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care, administer treatments, monitor patient progress, and offer emotional support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

* Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments according to established protocols.
* Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate interventions as needed.
* Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies.
* Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and document patient progress accurately.
* Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
* Provide emotional support and counselling to patients and families coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
* Participate in research initiatives, quality improvement projects, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

* Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Zealand.
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
* Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in oncology nursing.
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
