Intermediate / Senior Accountant
Location: Wellington (Office-Based)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Early finish at 2:00pm every Friday
Kinetic Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, privately owned accounting firm based in Wellington. The organisation has built a strong reputation within the private sector, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base.
With a professional team of 12 staff, the firm offers a supportive and collaborative working environment. Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, they are seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join their team.
This is a fully office-based position, therefore applicants must currently reside in Wellington.
The Opportunity
This role will see you managing your own portfolio of clients while working closely with a small and experienced team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing practical advice to businesses.
The position suits someone who is confident working independently, able to manage deadlines effectively, and comfortable dealing directly with clients on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Direct communication with clients regarding compliance matters
- Providing general accounting and business advice where appropriate
- Ensuring all work meets regulatory and professional standards
- Supporting the wider team when required
- Proven experience working in a New Zealand Public Practice environment (ESSENTIAL)
- Background within the Private Sector
- Government accounting backgrounds will not be considered
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax compliance
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines
- CA qualification not required
