Temp Mechanical Fitter – Immediate Start – Auckland Airport Area

$40–$45 per hour | Min. 2 Months | Potential to Go Permanent
We are seeking a skilled Temporary Mechanical Fitter for an immediate start near Auckland Airport. This is a minimum two-month assignment, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Details:

• Location: Auckland Airport area
• Pay Rate: Up to $45/hour (based on experience)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
• Duration: Minimum 2 months – potential to go permanent
• Start: ASAP

Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for assembling portable reel systems and performing general mechanical work in a factory setting. You’ll also be involved in asset maintenance, small projects, and plant upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble mechanical components and portable reel systems
• Perform plant maintenance, including servicing and repairs
• Conduct PM checks and handle small-scale mechanical projects
• Set up, align, and operate workshop tools/machines to cut, bend, punch, and drill
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Work to deadlines and production targets
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace
• Work both independently and as part of a team

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with various metals, particularly stainless steel
• Background in a factory or plant environment
• Mechanical trade skills and hands-on assembly knowledge
• Strong problem-solving ability and initiative
• Full NZ driver’s licence
• Forklift licence (preferred)
• Valid NZ passport
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Clear criminal record (MOJ check required)
