Job description
Looking for your next step in industrial coatings? We’re on the hunt for a hands-on Paint Workshop Supervisor to lead a small, skilled crew working on a mix of workshop and onsite projects right here in sunny Mount Maunganui.
This role suits someone who’s as comfortable in the booth as they are leading from the front – a natural problem solver with an eye for detail and the drive to keep things running smoothly (and safely).
What You’ll Be Doing – Lead and support a small team of industrial painters and prep staff
– Get hands-on with the prep and application of protective coatings, including epoxies
– Oversee quality using wet film gauges, Positectors, and QA systems to keep standards high
– Coordinate with site reps to ensure jobs hit client expectations
– Keep QA records accurate and Health & Safety top of mind
What You’ll Bring
– Basic Coatings Inspector or NACE CIP Level 1 Certification (must-have)
– Around 5+ years’ experience across industrial coatings, steel prep, and epoxy systems
– Proven leadership running small teams in workshop or onsite environments
– Strong knowledge of coating systems, QA tools, and best practices
– A team-first attitude, solid communication, and high personal standards
What’s on Offer
– Variety – no two projects are the same
– Supportive team culture with a strong reputation in the industry
– Opportunities to upskill and grow
– Competitive pay based on experience
If you’ve got the technical know-how, the leadership chops, and don’t mind a bit of paint under your nails – this could be your next great move.
