Job description

- Fulltime Junior Solicitor sought, training if a Graduate! Or any PQE.
- Niche city fringe Practice, (commercial, family, property law).
- Mandarin or Cantonese writer and speaker

INTRO
  • Are you a Graduate OR a Lawyer with 1or 2 year PQE, Mandarin or Cantonese writing and speaking skills, looking for your next opportunity in a supportive, professional, and family-oriented law firm?
  • Our client is seeking a capable and motivated legal graduate or recently qualified (1-2 years PQE) to be trained in Property, Commercial and Family Law to join their growing team
  • You will work closely with the Directors and wider legal team to deliver high-quality legal services
  • Our client is at the forefront of technology, with fingertip accessibility to subscribed legal libraries such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, as well as innovative integration of AI tools to enhance legal research and workflow efficiency
TASKS
  • Undertaking legal work in all aspects of the firm’s practice areas under the direction of the Directors.
  • Maintaining a current and valid practising certificate issued by the relevant authority.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation, professional conduct rules, and codes of practice issued by the New Zealand Law Society and other governing bodies.
  • Attending professional development and training to meet the annual Law Society CPD requirements.
  • Collaborating and sharing knowledge with other staff members, including providing guidance and training where required.
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Ensuring strict confidentiality in all client matters.
  • Representing the firm at advertising, promotional, or networking events when required.
  • Travelling to and from external locations as needed (for example, attending court hearings or filing documents with government departments and agencies).
  • Recording a minimum of 65 billable units per working day.
  • Meeting or exceeding the annual performance budget (set as three times the total remuneration package).

ABOUT YOU 
  • Graduate OR Lawyer with 1or 2 year PQE
  • New Zealand Law Degree (LLB)
  • A professional, client-focused approach
  • Language skills in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
  • Interest in property, commercial and/or family law
