Key Responsibilities:
Repairs & Maintenance
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on trucks, excavators, forklifts, balers, and other site equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of fixed assets (buildings, bins, attachments, etc.).
- Perform daily equipment checks, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
- Ensure required parts and consumables are available, ordering as needed.
- Support the coordination of outsourced repairs where required.
- Provide backup operation of site machinery (presses, trucks, excavators, forklifts) during staff absences.
- Ensure all machinery is service-ready for after-hours operations and load outs.
- Train staff on the safe use and care of equipment.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and storage areas to a safe and tidy standard.
- Uphold security of all workshop assets.
- Follow and promote safe working procedures at all times.
- Report hazards, incidents, and equipment safety concerns immediately.
- Take part in Toolbox Talks and other H&S discussions.
- Support and assist colleagues to achieve operational goals.
- Step into varied tasks as required—flexibility is key.
- Practical background—experience in mechanical maintenance, farming, army, trades, or similar hands-on environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and fix problems under pressure.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, engines, and general plant machinery.
- Honest, reliable, and comfortable working independently.
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable tackling varied tasks.
- Team player with clear communication skills.
- Current full and clean driver’s licence (other relevant licences/certifications an advantage).
- Minimum three years’ relevant experience preferred, but transferable skills from practical backgrounds will be considered.
