Our client
  • Our client is a very successful global business established well over 100 years
  • A private family business operating out of Europe with representation in Mt Wellington, NZ
  • A smaller but incredibly successful company supplying products to large manufacturers (particularly food), construction companies etc
  • Not a corporate culture, more inclusive, ie a flat structure reporting to a fantastic Manager!
 
Role overview
  • Due to the retirement of their wonderful staff member after 29 years employment!!
  • You will be part of a total team of six, working alongside another customer services person, with varied responsibilities including support of sales, overview of purchasing, import and export duties
  • A small warehouse is onsite, manufacturing is offshore, as there are three categories of product sourced that provide specific manufacturing and other solutions to clients
 
Sales and Purchasing Duties:
  • Enter orders daily into the system, including orders for picking
  • Ensure that production orders have the appropriate job sheet and drawings raised
  • Checking for variances, make corrections, adjust and advise customer of any delays
  • Follow up despatch dates with production to ensure deadlines meet production schedule, monitoring stock
 
Importing/Exporting Duties:
  • Liaise with suppliers re arrival times of imported goods
  • Forward import docs to customs clearance agents
  • Ensure charges from shipper received and processed
  • Calculate landed cost of purchases using Product Costing form, enter received dates, receipt via Sybiz
  • Prepare export documentation, ensuring collection/distribution of goods is co-ordinated
  • Upon collection of goods, advise client of despatch etc
  • Keep on top of import/export guidelines and requirements
 
General Duties:
  • Petty cash, mail, stationery & kitchen supplies
  • Coordinate company Key Register and external contractors (eg Cleaners)
  • Ensure all callers and visitors are welcomed and responded to promptly
  • Plan and co-ordinate staff training, company events, and social functions.
 
You
  • You will truly be a positive and proactive person, used to seeking solutions and working as part of a CSR team where the end result for the customer in manufacturing is the focus, as you will have extensive regular contact with these predominantly existing customers…managing expectations at times too (re delivery of product when sourced offshore, air/sea shipping time)…NOTE the Shipping side of the role can be taught
  • Product based customer service experience servicing the manufacturing sector or similar with some warehouse stock is required (not from the ‘service’ only sector pls)
  • Have great prioritisation skills, able to work quickly and effectively, juggling multiple tasks and demands
  • Be adaptable, flexible and enjoy using systems (An ERP system like Oracle is used, & MS Office, and integrated database systems)
  • Enjoy clearly communicating with a wide range of people with team management skills/ability

  • An excellent salary/incentive package also applies ie up to $75,000 plus an annual Bonus of up to 10%
