Are you a hands-on leader with proven experience in structural steel fabrication? We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy steel fabrication workshop and lead a high-performing team to deliver projects on time, to spec, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role: 

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and leadership of workshop operations. You’ll ensure that all steel assemblies are fabricated, painted, and delivered to site on time while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, productivity, and efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of structural steel processes, excellent team leadership skills, and a drive to continuously improve workshop performance.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee daily operations of the structural steel fabrication workshop
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of fabricators and welders
  • Coordinate with logistics and site teams to ensure timely delivery of assemblies
  • Plan and schedule production to meet project timelines and resource requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles
  • Monitor fabrication progress, track KPIs, and report on workshop performance
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with health & safety standards
  • Ensure the right materials, tools, and instructions are available to your team

What We're Looking For: 
  • Proven experience in a production or workshop management role within structural steel or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication workflows, scheduling, and resource coordination
  • Ability to lead and develop teams to achieve high performance and quality outcomes
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A safety-first mindset and commitment to quality control
  • Financial and resource planning awareness
